Harry Frye is also one that Robbins can't be compared to either. Riggs had one state championship to his credit because the state playoffs didn't begin until like 1970.

I would just about venture to say that Phil is among the greatest ever in the LPD, but not the best. Maybe the best of his time, but not ever.

Harry Fry could have had more titles also if there had been state titles before 1970. He coached the very first ever AA State Champions in 1970. There were other years in the late 50s and through the 60s that GC could have won also. They would have for sure made the playoffs anyways. We have been blessed with some great Coaches in our area the past 40 years. I cant believe I am saying it but Nick Colobro is another ranked up there. He was in the same situation as the D1 coaches are around here while GC was in AA during the 90s. Once GC made it to the Semis in AA they faced teams with much larger enrollments than teir own. There were a few times in the 90s if GC had not been playing up they would have likely played for the D2 state title. But that is only woulda, coulda, shoulda.
